Playtex Sport Fresh Balance – The tampons are designed to offer you the comfort and protection to take on whatever activity your day brings, with an added fresh scent to mask away any possible odors.
I really liked these tampons, the packaging was appealing and youthful and the applicator was comfortable and easy to use. Although I felt that the tampons provided sufficient coverage, I was a little worried about the connected string as I thought it was a little flimsy looking. Nonetheless, this could have due to the fact that the package I received was for light days so I still recommend this product.

Vitamin Shoppe Next Step Fit N Full Protein Shake – These shakes come in three flavors: Swiss chocolate, vanilla and Fresh berries. They are meant to be nutritious meal replacement drinks that, in conjunction with other Vitamin Shoppe Next Step products, are designed to help you reach your weight management goals.
I am used to meal replacement shakes and use them quite often so this was a product that I really wanted to like. I was disappointed, however, with their lack of taste; although I wasn’t expecting something super delicious I thought it would at least taste good enough to not remind me of what I could have been eating instead. Another thing is that I didn’t feel any of them kept me feeling full longer than an hour, if that. I would definitely try the program as a whole and even purchase the shakes for the right price because this is exactly what I wanted but I have found, so far, that there is no regimen to follow (I need a guide on how and when to use these products) and I have found similar products that are cheaper and richer in taste. The blender bottle, however, it something I absolutely love and continue to use, with my other shakes.

Blue Diamond Blueberry Flavored Almonds – These are covered almonds in different flavors, the ones I received from Influenster were blueberry.
These were little bits of heaven (this is coming from someone who isn’t particularly find of blueberries), they were delicious, nutritious and just the right size to make a good snack. Nothing more to say except that I am going to buy more as I’m sure I will love them all.

Profoot Triad Orthodic AND Profoot Pedi Rock – The first is a three-quarter orthotic insole that provides relief for the common back, leg and foot pains. The second is a pumice rock to smooth out calluses on your feet.
I was pleased with both products and even more so their prices. For less than $10 each, both the insoles and the rock worked wonders on my feet. The insoles got me through more than one shopping spree (think 6 hours in the mall) without my usual hip, knee and lower back ailments. I use the pedi rock almost daily because my feet can get dry; my feet have never been smoother. My only complaints, if any, is that the insoles cannot be worn with heels and the rock can be a little difficult to handle (think an ergonomic mouse that you have to grip just right to maneuver).

Aqua Spa Bath Salts – These bath salts are designed to add a relaxing lavender scent and bubbles to your bath, all the while relaxing your muscles and smoothing your skin.
I am not much of a bath-taking person (I take a shower to get in and out) but just last week I was dead tired so my boyfriend drew me a bath to relax. I don’t know if it was the candlelight room, my Netflix guilty pleasure playing on my phone or the warm water but I felt great and relaxed. The bubbles were few and the disappeared quickly but I did feel my skin softer and I was definitely less tense. I’m not sure when I will get this lucky to have an at-home spa day but if that’s the sort of thing you’re into, then this might be the product for you. TIP: use it as a foot soak with warm water to soften your feet before using a pumice rock.

Muller Yogurts – This is a Quaker brand line of Greek yogurt products. The products I tested were the Corner yogurts that are plain Greek yogurt on one side of the container and a topping on the other corner, hence the name.
It took me a while to find a place that sold these but when I did I was fortunate enough to find them on sale. The yogurt I purchased with my voucher was the Corner yogurt with caramelized almonds. Although I am not a fan of Greek yogurt, I really enjoyed this one. I liked that it was a healthier snack with just enough sweetness to it that it felt more like dessert. Since then, I have tried other variations like Corner yogurt with berries, granola and chocolate rice puffs… all delicious and nutritious!

Influenster Viva VoxBox

Viva VoxBox
All products were received compliments of Influenster for testing and review purposes, all comments herein are my own.

I received the Viva VoxBox from Influenster and it included the following items (for full reviews of each product, please see my other dedicated blog posts):

The Fuel Rewards Network at Shell

This card, similar to other fuel rewards programs, allows the user to save money at the pump by purchasing from participating vendors and accumulating credits for cents off per gallon. The difference is that with this rewards program you can also save money at participating stores and restaurants too. I unfortunately found that there are no participating Shell gas stations in my area but I still plan to keep my card since I can save at many restaurants and stores; maybe I can save on the pump in the near future when the program expands.

NYC New York Color City Proof Twistable Intense Lip Color

I have tried and purchased NYC products before, mostly because they are so inexpensive so I am familiar with the product. This lip color that came in South Berry Ferry looks like a jumbo lip crayon and glides on like a lipstick. The color is rich and lasts a long time but it doesn’t dry out your lips like other long lasting lip colors. I received a lot of compliments when wearing this orange-red lip color. The only downfall is that is doesn’t set so you end up getting it on everything your lips touch.

Pure Ice Nail Polish (2)

I had heard of these nail polishes before but never purchase or even tried out any of them. I do love nail polish though, and have a wide selection, so naturally I was intrigued. This brand is easy to find in many stores and very inexpensive so I was a little skeptical about the quality of it; I was pleasantly surprised. Although it took three coats to get the color I needed to cover my white nail tips, I was shocked the nail polish lasted as long as it did without chipping; about 11 days without a top coat. Even the glitter top coat impressed me; it did not feel all coarse when dry. Overall, good polish at a fraction of the cost.

Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing Cloths

I always use make up removing wipes at night because they are so much more convenient than washing your face when you are half asleep so there cloths were right up my alley. Compared to the usual ones I purchase, the cloths initially appeared to have less product, smaller in size and thicker. The works just the same as the other twice as expensive brand, however, even though it does not seem like that initially. Because they are drier than their counterparts, the cloths are harder to maneuver against your skin but I can assure you that they work just as well. I was even able to remove by eye make-up but that took another cloth and I had to be careful not to get it in my eye because it will irritate.

Vaseline Spray & Go Body Moisturizer in Cocoa Radiant

I had already tried this product and I really love it; it is super easy to use and dries in seconds. More importantly, the spray moisturizes as good as a lotion without feeling sticky or greasy. In cocoa radiant, the fragrance reminds me of tanning lotion, not the self-tanners that smell like feet but the tanning products you use in the beds or sun (anyone that has gone tanning before knows that fragrant smell I’m talking about). If you hate throwing away a bottle of lotion you KNOW still has some product left in the bottom you can’t reach, then this convenient spray & go bottle is perfect for you!

Montagne Jeunesse Masques

These masques always caught my attention at stores but never tried them out before this VoxBox. The masque I tried out was dark chocolate and it worked great, it was easy to apply and it dried in 15-20 minutes. It was a little messy to remove because of the chocolate but I’m sure it won’t be the same for all types and the best part was that it left my skin smooth, hydrated and glowing.

#FindItAtTarget: Charles Worthington Leave in Conditioner

Charles Worthington Moisture Seal Hair Healer Leave-In Conditioner

This product was received compliments of Influenster; all opinions herein are my own.

The Product: “The Moisture Seal range is enriched with nourishing Argan Oil and fragranced with lime, mandarin and white florals, making it an everyday luxury that can be used every day to moisturize, smooth and detangle, sealing in moisture without adding weight.”

The Promise: Soft, beautifully conditioned hair that feels silky and looks red-carpet ready, from root to tip. It repairs and reconditions thirsty hair for a smooth, healthy-looking finish. Hair feels soft, silky and deeply nourished all day long.

The Good: This product does what it says it’s going to do; it makes your hair super soft and manageable. I used this product about two weeks before using my hair straightener and when I did, it left my hair soft, straight and shiny. An added bonus, this leave-in conditioner smells great and, when left to air dry on my damp hair, it doubled as a beach wave texturizer.

The Bad: As much as I loved this product, there were a few potentially negative things I have to note about it: 1) the product itself was a little tacky, making my hands sticky after every use, 2) I felt like I had to use a large amount of the conditioner to get the coverage I wanted for my medium-long hair and 3) I did notice a little flaking/product residue on my hair by the end of the day when using this leave-in conditioner.

The Verdict: I really like this product and will probably purchase it again because it does make hair softer. I have had other people with different hair types try it and they like it as well. If you are on the fence about this product, check out the Influenster Product Review Website and the Target reviews for more input on this product.

BONUS: 4/18/14 – Target’s price is currently cut for this product, from $9.99 to $7.99 (the cheapest I have seen this product online) but note that this product is currently only available in store.

Colgate Optic White Toothbrush and Built-In Whitening Pen

Colgate Optic White™ Toothbrush + Built-In Whitening Pen
Product compliments of Influenster, all opinions are my own.

The Product:

Colgate has introduced a new product on their Optic White line of whitening products. This toothbrush, similar to the Colgate 360 brush comes with a whitening gel pen that attaches to the bottom of the brush. Retail Price: $12.99 at Target.

The Promise:
When used as directed, this product is supposed to notably whiten teeth in just two days, but you should be able to see a slight difference after the first use.

The Process:
Using the Optic White brush that’s included, brush your teeth as you normally would and then rinse. Once you are done brushing your teeth, you detach the whitening pen from below the toothbrush and turn two clicks counterclockwise to release whitening product. Distribute product across entire row of teeth and repeat for the second row. This process needs to be done twice a day to obtain best results and should be continued until whitening product is finished. Use once a month to keep teeth looking white.

The Good:
Having used Optic White products before, I was really excited to see how this performed in comparison. I use the product as directed and I even used the Optic White toothpaste to ensure the best results. After just one week I began to notice whiter teeth, the only got whiter by week 2. Although I cannot expect to have blindly white teeth like on TV without professional grade products, I am pretty pleased with the results. Additionally, have both the pen and the toothbrush together made it a lot easier to follow through on whitening. Lastly, I think that for the price of the product (about half the cost of whitening strips) you are really getting a great product that is 2 in 1.

The Bad:
Although I really enjoyed using this product, and am thankful I had the opportunity to try for free, I don’t think I will be using it the future… at least not monthly as the packaging suggests. After using the product twice a day as directed, I began to notice my teeth became sensitive. I must say this did lessen as I switched over to using the product once a day but I only felt comfortable doing this after I had achieved noticeable results. I also had some trouble using the whitening pen because I felt that is wasn’t distributing the product even across my teeth. The solution? I began to use my CLEAN fingertip to place the gel on my teeth and that worked a lot better for me. My biggest problem with this product, however, is the instructions. They do a great job at explaining the easy way to APPLY the product but they neglect to tell you what to do afterward. Do I rinse? Do I spit the excess off? Can I close my mouth? Is it safe to swallow? How soon can I eat/drink?

The Verdict: A-

I definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for an inexpensive way to whiten their teeth a couple of shades but for permanent, considerable results, I would seek a professional.
