I was walking down the street the other day, at night, and I was delighted to see all of the Christmas decorations up with all the lights and trees, and it got me thinnking "Wait, this is still NOVEMBER!!" What happened to Thanksgiving? What happened to dinner with the family, the turkey, the GIVING THANKS?! It seems as if nowadays the fourth Thursday of November is just the day before Black Friday, the first day of a four-day weekend for those of us lucky enough to get it off. I remember getting all dolled up and ready to have a large feast with my family on these days and now, I'm lucky if I can get four of us rounded up for dinner. It is especially sad for me now because I have two children, I don't want them thinking that this day is meaningless. I propose that tomorrow, Thursday November 22, we don't think or even mention Chistmas and instead enjoy the day for what it is; a time to spend with your loved ones and give thanks for all of the wonderful blessings in your life. In these times when the unemployment rate is high and everybobdy's spirits are low, it may be harder to find something to be thankful for but believe me if you look hard enough you will find that someone "up there" (who ever that may be for you) has blessed you in ways you cannot even image....
I am thankful for you (thanks for reading), for my family and my health....
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!
